IS YOUR BODY HOLDING YOU BACK?… EXERCISE IS MEDICINE!!

Just ask an Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP) who provide treatment through exercise prescription. Targeted exercise has been shown to be effective in treating chronic illnesses and injuries. Our AEP works with our local Doctors and Allied Health teams.

WHAT MAKES AN ACCREDITED EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST (AEP) DIFFERENT FROM A PERSONAL TRAINER?

Although there are similarities, Exercise Physiologists are able to offer more due to their University qualification and a scientific approach to rehabilitation, with a strong understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics. This allows them to offer more educated advice and guidance when it comes to injury.  AEP’s are capable of managing multiple medical conditions during treatment to ensure that exercise participation can continue. Rebates are available from Medicare and Health funds providing financial assistance with your treatment.

AEP possess extensive knowledge and experience in providing clinical treatment of conditions including:
• Cardiovascular Disease • Pulmonary Disease • Overweight and Obesity • Diabetes • Osteoarthritis • Osteoporosis
• Chronic joint pain • Mental health conditions • Impaired functional movement • Pre-and Post-surgical rehabilitation • Neurological conditions (eg. Parkinsons etc) • Return to sport, gym or functional activity

AEP’s provide a tailored exercise program to address the needs of each individual. Education is an important part of the treatment so you can understand what is happening, how treatment works and how to self-manage flair ups in the future.
